And thus diday Petereth say "Here is-eth the rules" and they were-et done-et.
There is only one judge. (with the exception of "guest judge" competitions, which will be specifically labelled as such) This judge is Peter C. Hayward (hereafter referred to as "The Judges") and his decision on any issue is final. Once the results are posted they will not be changed unless plagiarism has occurred.
The Competition consists of a piece of creative work being emailed to The Judges and judged on set criteria, which may differ slightly from competition to competition. This piece of creative work (hereafter referred to as "The Entry") must have been inspired by or contain certain stimulus, the nature and quantity of which may also differ from competition to competition.
The Entry may be of any format or style. Here is a list of example formats.
The only restrictions of the format or style of The Entry are as follows-
The Entry must not be innappropriate for people under the age of 12. If you are unsure of whether your submission is innappropriate, email it to The Judgesindicating in the body of the email your doubts. The Judges do not read The Entries until they are judged, so unless this is specified, any innappropriate entries will go unnoticed until judging and thus disqualified.
The Entry must not exceed a file size of 500kb.
The Entry must be transmittable electronically. If there is an issue with this, email The Judges and inquire how a certain form of entry can be emailed.
The Entry must not exceed 1024 by 768 pixels in size, or 5 minutes in length.
If The Judges find The Entry offensive (note that The Judges are pretty liberal and hard to offend) then it will be disqualified. Racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination will be judged on a case-by-case basis. They are not disqualified automatically as works such as "To Kill A Mockingbird" had examples of racism, but is still a worthwhile contribution to society.
Entries that are primarily writing (i.e. stories, poems, fan fiction) should be sent in either .txt form, or .rtf form if they include Rich Text Format (such as italics, bold etc.)
All entries should be sent as attatchments- entries in the body of the email will be ignored. As The Judges are fairly lenient, they will reply and inform the entrant of their mistake, however this should be avoided.
Different formats will be judged differently.
By entering this competition, you are giving The Judges permission to non-exclusively host and display The Entry permanently and without restriction. The copyright still belongs to you, however The Judges are allowed to use The Entry for promotional merchandising purposes.
Limit of three (3) entries per person.
Unless you are the only person entering, you may not have more than one (or, worst case scenario, two) of the top three positions. You will keep your highest position, however any others will be demoted.
While prizes may be offered for some competitions, it is not guaranteed.
